Half of this year (Jan, 2005 � June, 2005), The export quantity reduced of southern hemisphere canned peaches, so the demand was reduced in market.

During Jan � June 2005, there are some country of southern hemisphere such as South Africa, Chile, Argentina and Australia etc. The export quantity of canned peaches about these countries was 3.4 million cartons, which reduced 20% than 2004(4.3 million cartons). Even South Africa was still the main canned peaches exporter, but export quantity has been reduced to 1.9 million cartons.

But during the early 6 months in 2005, Japan import quantity was 37.41 thousand cartons, which has been reduced than 2004 (49.37 thousand cartons) and 2003(42.94 thousand cartons).
As the same time, in despite of the demand of Thailand market has been reduced to 16.96 thousand cartons, that reduced 50% than 2004, but for South Africa, Thailand is still developing market.

Half of this year, Hong Kong & Britain, the demand of canned peaches include peach halves and peach slices was keeping steady-going development. Their import quantity was 16.06 thousand cartons & 14.73 thousand cartons. During Jan � June, Netherlands import quantity increased to 12.1 thousand cartons.

But the early 6 months in 2004, Netherlands import quantity of canned peaches was 11.7 thousand cartons; same as period in 2003, import quantity of canned peaches was reduced to 1.98 cartons.

The biggest surprise is that, demand of Australia is keeping increase.
Half of this year, South Africa export 11.29 thousand cartons to Australia, which increased 300% than last year same as period.

But Australia is traditional peaches halves export county, just because canned peaches industry was not prosperity recently in Australia, so the importer was keeping increasing their order.

But in Germany the situation was reverse. The early 6 months in 2003, Germany imported 30.34 thousand cartons canned peaches, but in 2005, Germany import quantity reduced to fewer than 10 thousand cartons.

Recently, Canned fruit industry of South Africa has a big problem, the currency of South Africa (RAND) was so steady, and so export to America was almost impossible.
